Opportunities in the Philippines’ infrastructure industry is in all-time high as the government openly demonstrates its support in accelerating investment in this sector. This is following the present administration’s recognition of the country’s need in strengthening the infrastructure sector to exploit and maximize its potential economic impact.
The Build, Build, Build (BBB) Infrastructure Program, as initiated by the Philippines’ President, aims to boost economic growth and improve job opportunities and lives of the Filipino people by transforming the country’s infrastructure landscape. To realize this goal, the government allocated close to Php1 trillion out of the almost Php4 trillion 2019 National Budget for the BBB program. Further, around Php9 trillion is projected to be spent by the public sector in infrastructure investment for a 5-year period, from 2017-2022.
Particularly, significant attention will be given to improving traffic conditions especially in Metro Manila, the country’s National Capital Region (NCR) and center of government and economy. In fact, key projects in the BBB infrastructure program include the construction and development of roads and bridges connecting Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao to facilitate faster movement of people and goods across the archipelago.
Lnoppen will host the “PHILIPPINES ROADS AND BRIDGES EXPANSION SUMMIT” wherein, government officials, investment companies, road and bridge developers and concession holders will go in discussion with consultants, architects, construction companies, equipment providers and service groups, in order to better explore the market and support the infrastructure development in the Philippines.
